About this tool

What is this tool for?

It shows what to take to hospital for the birth, in separate lists for mum, baby and birth partner. The list comes from the NHS; enter your due date and it also tells you the latest date to have the bag ready.

How do I use it?

Choose whose bag you're packing and tick what you've packed. If it's cold, switch on the winter item. When you're done, print the list and keep it with the bag.

How do I read the result?

Each tab shows how many items are ready. The ready-by date is 3 weeks before the due date; labour can start earlier.

Limits of this tool

The list is general guidance; hospitals may give their own. Caesarean-specific items aren't in the source, so they aren't listed. Ticks are not saved.
