Our purpose is not to publish the greatest volume of content. It is to provide information that is useful, understandable and appropriately supported.

We Start With a Real User Need

Content should address a genuine parenting question rather than exist only because a keyword has search volume.

Localisation, Not Mechanical Translation

UK content should reflect UK terminology, healthcare pathways, public bodies and cultural context where relevant.

Evidence and Sources

For health and developmental topics, preference is given to authoritative public-health guidance, professional bodies, high-quality reviews and peer-reviewed evidence appropriate to the claim.

Expert Review

Not every article requires clinical review. Higher-risk health, safety or developmental content can be routed to qualified review before publication.

Use of AI

AI may support research, drafting, localisation, gap analysis and quality assurance. AI output is not treated as evidence and does not replace editorial or expert review.

Corrections and Updates

Material factual errors should be corrected promptly. Significant updates should be traceable.

Commercial Independence

Advertising and commercial relationships must not secretly determine editorial conclusions.

Official Sources: where does the information come from?

When preparing content, we draw on guidance published by health ministries, public health agencies and other government bodies in different countries, including Türkiye. We do not claim to use every institution in every country. Each article's bibliography identifies the publications actually consulted for that article.

A source's country and an article's language are different things: an English article may draw on guidance from several countries. Age, setting and national context matter when interpreting a finding. Local practices should not be presented as universal rules. The list below comes only from source records linked to published articles; it is not a directory promoting institutions.

Reliable Content: the scope and limits of checks

Reliability means being able to trace sources and question claims, not simply displaying a badge. Our publication process includes source, content, localization and safety checks. AI may assist research and writing; its involvement is neither a guarantee of accuracy nor evidence of expert review.

We do not claim that a physician approves every article. Any expert contribution or review should be identified, with its scope, in the relevant article. Content provides general information, not diagnosis, treatment or individualized professional assessment. Please report errors or omissions through our Contact page.

Current Information: what do the dates mean?

The first publication date records when an article was first made available; editing it does not automatically make it a newly published article. A last-reviewed date, when displayed, refers to a separate review. A technical save timestamp is not the same as a scientific review date.

Source links and information are rechecked during maintenance; changed or incorrect information requires correction. Current Information does not promise that every sentence is checked daily or in real time. Consider the article's dates, the source publication's date and your own circumstances together.

Practical Suggestions: using information in daily life

We organize suggestions around age ranges, everyday needs and actionable steps. Children develop differently and families have different circumstances. Before applying a suggestion, read the age scope, safety notes and situations in which it may not be appropriate.

Sample routines, tables and tools help inform decisions; they do not promise guaranteed results, an identical developmental timetable or a medical assessment. Adapt them to your child's needs. In a concerning or urgent situation, do not rely on an online article alone; seek appropriate professional support.

Citing an institution does not mean it endorses, supervises or partners with Lumiya. Nongovernmental professional associations are not included in this government-body list.
